MRF was contracted by Shell Gabon Limited to provide sea turtle expertise on the proposed Sealine Export Pipeline Replacement Route as part of the Gamba Terminal Rejuvenation Project in Gabon. Specifically, MRF was contracted to provide input prior to commencement of the project on the Actions and Impacts register, and to develop a mitigation plan for potential impacts on endangered leatherback and olive ridley sea turtles as a result of the project activities.
MRF was also involved in providing scientific expertise in designing monitoring protocols to detect impacts by lighting during the construction phase, and to provide design options for mitigating onshore construction activities and footprint.
