Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd (PCSB) proposes to drill five wells in the Samarang oil field to increase hydrocarbon production. The Samarang field is located in production sub-block 310 off Sabah, some 50km NW of Labuan, where the average water depth is 10m and 45m respectively.

MRF has been contracted to conduct coral reef surveys using drop cameras at the proposed drill sites to establish baseline environmental conditions.
